Melissa Borner

About Melissa A. Borner, J.D.

Melissa (Mel) was born and raised in Central New York, where she graduated from Poland Central School and continued her education at Utica College (University). At Utica, she pursued a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a concentration in Child Development. During her time in undergrad, she volunteered in the pediatric department at the local hospital and spent a summer working at a children’s hospital in Cape Town, South Africa.

After graduating summa cum laude from Utica in 2018, Mel worked for a non-profit in Orlando, FL that hosts critically ill children and their families while they spend time enjoying the amusement parks. Mel then continued her career in CNY at an insurance brokerage firm but ultimately decided after a few years of working to attend law school.

Mel attended Quinnipiac University School of Law in North Haven, CT, and continued to work throughout the course of her legal studies. During her time as a law student, Mel clerked for judges on the Connecticut Superior Court and worked at a high-density personal injury litigation firm with a primary focus in medical malpractice.

After graduating from law school in 2025, Mel returned to CNY to continue her law career and joined EPLC in January of 2026. Her background in dealing with the healthcare system and her formal education tie into her desire to help families navigate through tough times, and plan and prepare for life’s ups and downs. When she is not in the office, Mel is either traveling with family and friends, teaching dance, or soaking up the sun in central Florida or coastal New England.
